Graduation 199o
What year was it when you graduated from high school? 1990
What were your three favorite bands? The Smiths, Billy Bragg, Metallica
What was your favorite outfit? Jeans and a t-shirt. When it was cold, maybe a flannel.
What was up with your hair? Mullet!
Who were your best friends? David, Tony, John.
What did you do after school? Depended on the season; usually some sports practice
Did you take the bus?Not after 9th grade! I usually drove (as soon as Jenny's friend S came over, we'd leave. I could smell S's cheap perfume from downstairs!
Did you fight with your parents? Who, me?!?! Mr. Smart Mouth?!
Did you lug all of your books around in your backpack all day because you were too nervous to find your locker? Backpack? No. Bookbag? Sometimes. Not as a senior, though, because my locker was in a normal place, not down the industrial arts wing.
Did you have a 'clique'? I didn't think so. I floated and fit in with most groups.
Did you have "The Max" like Zach, Kelly, and Slater? Huh? I guess not.
Admit it, were you popular? I wasn't in the popular group (until I was a cheerleader), but everyone seemed to know me, and most of those people liked me, too!
Who did you want to be just like? I never found a good role model that I really wanted to imitate. I gravitated toward camp counselors, looking for a mentor.
What did you want to be when you grew up? Rich.
Where did you think you'd be at the age you are now? I didn't have any idea. I remember sitting in the hot tub with David talking about that. We figured we'd be rich (and, of course, 33 is incredibly old). David said he'd have two 18-year-old girlfriends. I thought I'd probably be married. Had no idea that I'd be a youth pastor (though Travis Tidler knew).
