Actually, this could be two posts. One would be about Vacation Bible School, which is going on this week. I've never been a fan of the packaged VBS things (actually of VBS in general) - I didn't like VBS when I was a kid - but that aside, I like VBS in our community. One reason is because both community churches are working together to do it. Another reason is that it's BIG here; in a town of 891 residents, we have over 200 kids involved. That doesn't even include the teachers, helpers, etc.
Anyway, the package includes skits (in which our teenagers are doing a great job) and some improv scenes calling for two "special agents" who dress like the Blues Brothers.
Those "special agents" would be me "PB" and "PD" from the UCC. We are having a blast acting like goof-balls in front of all those kids. They seem to enjoy our antics as well, and (unlike any I've seen before) I'm pleased with the improv sketches that Gospel Light provided in the material for this theme.

Hey, if only I could show up for one of your sessions (improv moments) you could be PB&J! (As it is, I guess you could use your kid...)
Sigh. I think I'm redundant...
I have always wished you could do skits like you were so very good at in school--back when!!!
Well written article.
