Yesterday was a good affirmation for me. In our staff meeting, we talked about our presence in the community, specifically in community events like parades. I have wondered what our purpose has been in participating in parades, especially when we haven't done it well, when we've just driven the church van in it so we have a presence. That has been our reasoning; we need a presence. Last year we had a great float for the parade (and some great guys spent a lot of time on it). But this year none of those guys are available, so what do we do?

Well, since it's a late November float in central Ohio, we give out free hot chocolate! What would show the love of Christ better than free hot chocolate on a cold day -- no strings attached!? I'm actually excited about us getting into kindness evangelism.
