This isn't What I Ordered

Though we finally had narrowed the daunting list of girls' names down to about three that were acceptable, it's all for naught, as Tara miscarried last night. It wasn't a shock, as she had been spotting since Monday, but I guess I was thinking that we were "out of the danger" time. It was beginning to be real that Jonathan would have a little sibling (scary thought: Jonathan as the older brother). I had even given the new one a nickname: Other Baby (named after Katie's second doll -- the first one was "One Baby" and the second was "Other Baby" because her mom would tell her she could bring one baby or the other baby with her). So I guess we'll have to wait some more.

Lord, I have some semblance of an idea how that feels (sister-in-law miscarried twice), but I of course really have no clue. God is working in this. Please pass along my best wishes to Tara.
